It's the best practice to use Time Machine and backup your music on an external HDD.
If you're Mac crashes in the future or you get a new Mac when you plug in your iPad it will not auto-sync, but it will warn you that you must erase your iPad before you can sync. You can still fairly easily get your music off of your iPad but you'll have to use a third-party program like Senuti to do it.
Drag and drop music in your iTunes library? You mean to and from your library? I dunno, explain further.

My IPod touch 3g is only 4 months old but I get about an hours use before the the 20% battery life come up. I brought it back to Apple and everything checks out. I love the unit but the battery life sucks. I have gone on line and checked out how to get better batery life, but If I did what it says to do, it would be useless.
Had similar problems, go to the Apple store, book an apointment with a technichan (you can choose the hour and day to meet your needs).
Explain them your problem and if you have any other ones such as, light leaks ,dead pixels, etc. The more things wrong with your iPod the higher the chances you'll get a replacement.
I did this on mine because I had a battery issue were my iPod didn't even last 10 hours on sleep mode... so yeah I decided to take it back and the guy that I got gave me a replacement in 10 minutes, just be friendly.
P.S - Restore your device before doing this of course... :D:apple:

Hi -
I posted this about a month ago in the iMac forum and it hasn't been resolved. Someone suggested I move it over to this forum - so here goes.
My right shift key, arrow up key, and the 4, 5, and 6 keys on the number pad are all not working. Nothing has spilled.
I've plugged in a different keyboard - same problem. Zapped pram - problem remains. Trashed prefs, restarted, repaired disk permissions, mouse keys off, checked international settings, speech setting off - everything I could find online - nothing has worked. The keyboard viewer is showing that the keys are not being seen.
Two things have changed since I originally posted this in the iMac forum. I upgraded from 10.4 to 10.6 (finally), but the problem remains.
I've also tried out my wireless keyboard that I use with my laptop. Strangely - the wireless works fine.
Anybody have any thoughts? Why would TWO usb connected keyboards have the exact same issues, and the wireless work fine?
I'm fine with just buying a new keyboard - but I'm concerned that the same problem will happen with a new one.
Any thoughts are welcome.
Thank you!

I beleive that Chrome will only run on an intel Mac, I have a G5. I have tried firefox and still get the same results. That is, I am unable to post comments. I can fill in the comment form, but when I submit it the comment does not appear. Anyone else have any suggestions for me? Thanks Seb

I have a cheap Bytecc external case. (Oxford 911 chipset) It has both firewire and usb2. I put a harddrive in one and a Lite-On DVD burner in the other.
Both work great for windows and mac.

Usually in your PHP file there's one file that connects to the database. I'll use this as an example, since I'm not familiar with shopping cart software.
In WordPress, there's a configuration file that connects to the database and has these variables:
define('DB_NAME', 'name'); // The name of the database
define('DB_USER', 'user'); // Your MySQL username
define('DB_PASSWORD', 'password'); // ...and password
define('DB_HOST', 'localhost'); // 99% chance you won't need to change this value
The 'localhost' value can be changed to the ip address you want, like 192.12.123.52. I hope this helps you a bit.

So a year and a half ago i switched. Everyone i know loved my powermac, my best friend got an ibook, my girlfriend just bought the new 800mhz cdrom ibook, then 4 months ago we found a 733 quicksilver in the paper, my mom took a chance and fell in love with it. Well since then i have added a powerbook, and my mom just replaced her work toshiba with a 12 inch powerbook too! We are now a 4 mac family (5 if you count the girlfriend)! we still have an old viao desktop and my sister just got a viao laptop for graduation, but she wasnt computer savy and going to college, it was best to leave her as compitable as possible. Thats all folks! just wanted to share, i know apple is headed the right way, people see a mac, use a mac and they want a mac.

Just bought a Just-Mobile AluPen capacitive stylus (http://www.xtand.net/alupen.html) that I plan on using for my iPad/iPhone, but wanted to give it a shot on my MacBook Pro's trackpad as well (same capacitive-touch technology).
The problem is that with the MacBook, when you're using a drawing app like Pixelmator, it waits for click input to start drawing "ink" to the canvas. It's not like an iPad where you're either drawing (contact on screen) or you're not (no contact).
How do I get this stylus to work intuitively on my MacBook the way it works on my iPad? I don't want to be clicking the trackpad when I'm drawing. It distorts things and degrades the stylus's tip much faster because of all the added pressure.
There's got to be a way...
PS
I tried enabling "Tap to click" and "Dragging" in the Trackpad settings pane but those don't work intuitively either. There's got to be a better solution.

If you already have two partitions established, you can reformat one without affecting the other. It's like having two separate drives.
Brilliant! thanks for your help :D

Bring a pillow and a sleeping bag or something and a deck of cards lol. I need some company. The associate told me people keep calling but no one has came yet.

anyone else have any recommendations?
I need a reliable company that has been around for a while.
Check Out Midphase.com or Autica.com, Midphase owns Autica, Im just not sure which one does dedicated servers, both might tho.
I have a midphase account that isn't dedicated and I have not had any problems with them at all. Tech support is great and uptime has not been an issue.

Some much of a inprovement with a quard cord? half the time or less might be worth it
Has you account been hacked or why is your post this garbled now?
And there is not much difference between an i5 and i7 on the 13" MBP.

Hey everybody. I bought an ipod a few days ago, and I'm having what I call a problem...although it may be normal...you tell me.
Ok, when I plug it into my ibook, it uploads like it should. However, Iget that "Do Not Disconnect" message for what seems like forever. Once the music is uploaded, shouldn't I be able to disconnect the thing? I have to eject it so that I can use it, or I close my ibook, putting it to sleep, and then I can resume my normal ipod functions. I'm going to keep it plugged in all night tonight, and disable the sleep function, and see what happens.
I'm just curious though...is this supposed to happen? Does the message goaway after awhile? Thanks in advance.
Chris

Stand on the eastern side of the lake; there should be a couple of rocks in front of you (in the water). You should be able to see the red fish swimming around. Casy your line, and when the bobber thing dips, give a quick jerk to the rod (ha ha).
Then just wait. Link reels in the fish on his own-- that was what messed me up. I thought I had to do some kind of reeling in action, and I didn't.
