My friend filed on July 24 and just got his receipts.. His receipt date is 7/17. Seems all late July/Early Aug filers under July bulletin will have RD of 7/17...
Any one to confirm or deny this... This pattern seems logical as visa bulletin was revived on 7/17 and most of the folks can't file for the 2 weeks during fiasco...

LOL..its good to have a sense of humor.
I wish there was a way to know if a case is pre-adjudicated.
This would help us to not file for H1 extensions, EAD, and AP. Which inturn would free up time for the officers to work on improving processing dates.
Offcourse, i am still happy about the date movement.
It just makes you wonder , if they USCIS was deligent in not wasting visas in previous years, even EB-3 would have had a reasonable date.

:confused:I am on my 5th Year H1B here with employer A
My GC PD (EB2-I) Mar 2008 I140 approved with Employer A
Currently I filed for the H1B extension with Employer A, it is in processing (for 3 years)
Now
I got an offer from my client (Employer B) for a permanent position
1. Can I apply for H1B transfer to Employer B while the Employer A extension is pending?
2. If I apply transfer to Employer B, after Employer A Extension is approved, will I get 3 years extension?
3. Can I port my PD (As I have approved I140 with Employer A) to my GC process with Employer B?
4. Are there any other complications & Risks?
Please give me the information

I have stamped from Canada 3 times before. without any issue.
I do not know the situation today. If you have all the required documents ready
and You attorney has sent a copy of your H1 extension to PIMS office at Kentucky
(For all extension petition this is required) You can stamp at Canadian US consulate
without much issues. If PIMS is not updated then you have to be ready to stay at Canada
for 1 to 3 months. so be careful before taking decisions, especially nowadays. This is my understanding.
Same thing at Indian consulates. I
f the rules have changed Please enlighten me the folks who knows about it.

I was wondering if anyone has any info on the job
market for international students in NY. I will be graduating
in Dec and will be on the job market soon.
Some of my friends say that there are jobs to be had but
not many are keen on sponsoring H1, even non-tarp firms.
Can anyone confirm/refute this?

concurrent filing means filing of I-140 and I-485 together not two I-140s.
why do you want to put false data on your profile? such as EB1 at Perm stage with 2000 priority date?
Are you trying to mock all the IV members? Or just being silly?

You have to be "in-status" to apply for AOS. The IO wants evidence of your continued non-immigrant status before you filed your AOS. Also, remember AOS does not grant you a status. It just lets you not accrue unlawful presence
Thank you for answering.
Does someone know if there is a time limit for immigration to answer after I send the evidence?

thanks for putting that into perspective!
I am getting driven nuts as I see the plight of those stuck in name check for years. It is so sad that some of us have had to hold life's decisions waiting for a piece of paper.. thanks anyways.

Hi,
I have a PERM approval in EB2 with PD Sept 2005, and I140 approval few days back. I will be entering my sixth year in H1 shortly, wanted an advice whether to go for 3 year extension or 1 year extension, are there any demerits of 3 year extension with respect to H1 transfer in case of layoff, etc?

AILA Leadership Has Just Posted the Following:
The Center for American Progress released a report detailing the actual cost of the only solution proposed by anti-immigration restrictionists--Mass Deportation. In "The Costs of Mass Deportation (http://www.americanprogress.org/issues/2010/03/deportation_cost.html),"Marshal Fitz, Gebe Martinez and Madura Wijewardena have put together a realistic appraisal of the costs of the only option other than comprehensive immigration reform. It is not a pretty picture. With costs over 5 years of $285 BILLION dollars (money which most folks understand that we do not have), we are faced with what appears to be an easy choice.
One, bring 12 million people out of the shadow economy and into the light. Allow them to pay taxes. Allow them to drive without fear. Allow them to live with their families. Allow them to generate wealth in the greatest economic engine ever created by man, the U.S. economy. Change our legal immigration system to eliminate outrageous non-immigrant and immigrant visa delays and encourage the immigration to the U.S. of the best and the brightest.
Or, two, deport everyone who had the courage to try to make it in America, even without a visa or status. Keep legal immigration restricted and strangle the economy, innovation, and motivation. Create fear and panic in immigrant communities, both legal and undocumented. Unmotivate immigrant youth to excel in school. Do everything in your power to cause distrust of lawful enforcement authority in immigrant communities.
These are your choices Congress. These are your choices Mr. President. Which will you have the courage to pursue and change?

I am sure MS has a lot of applicants that are facing retrogression. They do support employment based immigration.
I do not work for MS.

Hi all, I hope someone can provide me with some advice.
I made an awful mistake today. I am in the middle of an H1-B transfer (company just signed application and sent to lawyer for sending to uscis this week) and moving to a different city for this job. I am moving this week and will commute to my old job until my notice gets accepted. My issue:
I had prepared my AR-11 (change of address form) and had it sitting on my desk ready to be mailed once my application was approved (since my application and all documents had my old address from when they started the process). I took the envelope with other mail by mistake today and put it in the mail.
Will this be an issue with the application? I don't know if they'll deny my transfer because of an address discrepancy or something.
Please advise.

But he does not apply for the K-3 visa...I have to file the petition. So he still has to be in India? Could we re-marry in Canada? Then I file here?

This is a shot of emerging cinnamon fern heads. Captured with the Sigma EX 105mm macro lens and 20D, in manual at 1/400 and f/5.6. Shot handheld, lying on my side on a catwalk in the middle of a swamp. I was particularly pleased with the lighting and detail.
