I think that's why it's not user accessible?
The old one was much better in this regards. The new one is basically a laptop on a stand now. The old one was at least fairly serviceable.
Three screws and it was open - I'm guessing that is no longer the case.

I'm guessing you are interested in Photoshop skills/tutorials:
www.good-tutorials.com is a large database of tutorials.
It has tutorials on other programs as well, it used to be a Photoshop only tutorial website, but now has expanded to a wide array of great programs that are essential for graphic designers.
looks good man thanks for the help!!

No. But if you're only going to use this one time, or sparingly, why not avoid SSH and use something like iFunBox or iPhoneExplorer instead?
Wasn't aware of those, but good idea, I'll do that in the future. I did use OpenSSH to change some icons and the dock, and am considering deleting it since I don't plan to use it after this. So, looks like there'll be no problems then.

I have a Mac Pro 2009.
Just after I installed my new Nvidia Quadro 4000 for Mac I noticed that the fans are running at a much higher speed, everything else is working fine though, has anybody else noticed something like this ?. Just to clarify I am talking about the Mac Pro fans, not the one in the Video Card.
I am not using any other video card with the Quadro 4000. I've installed the Quadro 4000 on the PCI Slots #1 and #2 (both x16), just to try different locations but it's always the same issue.
I don't think the issue is temperature related, sometimes for no reason with the Mac Pro idle the computer fans will start ramping up speed up to very high RPMs, and sometimes with load on the computer the fans will run at very low RPMs, so I do not see a correlation between temperature and fan speed.
If I run Cinebench and execute an OpenGL test the Fans RPM will go down to the normal values and will stay there, this is really weird, it seems like the card needs to be activated or engaged by some OpenGL application and the fans (Expansion Slot and Power Supply) will return to their normal values.
I've been monitoring temperatures with iStat Menus, monstly CPU temperature and always in normal ranges, around 38C to 40C.
Any suggestion ?, thanks

hi all.. I recently started using the terminal client rather than the gui client I used before and I notice the terminal seems to take much longer than the gui client to finish 1%.
is this normal or do I just by chance have a very big work unit?
thanks.

That is completely and utterly impossible on iOS using the standard SDK. It may be possible on jailbroken devices but I have nothing to do with them.
I am a beginner in iOS dev .... but your reply is that of an expert in this domain - saying a big NO -
Hope i can reach those heights in iOS dev soon! :)
Just for info :
My AppName is NewsPoster
I want my NewsPoster app to be launced when user goes to www.google.com/news in his/her mobile browser.

I was hoping someone could let me know if they have the Frank Sinatra 24x36 Think Different Poster. This is the one where he is standing in a grey suit in front of a mic and a music stand. Thank you for anyone's help!
Strangely enough - I do. I have a few 'Think Different' posters that I've been considering selling (including framed Feynman and Henson posters, and an Edison poster - and I swear that somewhere I have the Miles Davis poster...)
I haven't snapped photos yet, but the Sinatra poster is one that I never got around to framing; it's in a poster tube in near mint condition, only a few wrinkles on the edges from when I bought it ~ 10 years ago. It's been in the tube since then. (No pinholes, no lamination.)
Post a note if interested (just noticed that "PM" isn't a function here!) - I'm looking for ~ $250 for the poster; but will entertain reasonable offers.

Depending on model, the new iMacs ship with Core i5-2400S (low-end 21"), i5-2500S (high-end 21" and low-end 27"), i5-2400 (high-end 27") CPU's in their standard configurations. BTO variants are available with Core i7-2600S (high-end 21"), and Core i7-2600 (high-end 27").
I actually didn't know the iMac used all low-power Sandy Bridge designs ("S") for their CPU's except for the high-end 27" model (both in its BTO variant and not).
All CPU's here were introduced in early 2011 and I believe at the same date as the 2500K. :)

Whelp - I have one that I did for a job interview presentation. It was done in Keynote 1, so you have to click everything (no timers). It's also not the frilliest thing in the world, as it was meant to look professional.
It's 8MB. I'm uploading it to my .Mac account for you, but I'm using a modem here. When it's up, I'll post a link.
You might want to take out some slides. Here's what it is:
Topic - discuss (in 45 minutes) the role of assessment in adult graduate and undergraduate education programs.
I took advantage of the Cube effect. It starts by traveling around the Assessment Cube as an introduction, then goes back around the cube with more detailed notes.
Still, most of the presentation was verbal, so there isn't a lot of text there for you to really know what I was talking about, but you'll get the general idea.
I'll post later with a link.

We order Elitebooks at work mainly because of their specs and port replicators. I opted to stick with my hp 6830s C2D and gave back my Elitebook cause i hated it.
They have good specs, but with XP, drivers can be an issue, battery life is not that great and they are FUGLY. All the flashing lights on them looks like a mini airport, the trackpad is small and primitive (compared to MBP) its heavy and THICK. The 17's cost over $2-3k, which for the same price can get a same spec'd MBP.
I would not recommend the Elitebook, they are massive ugly beasts. Get the MBP or another Windows machine but not the Elitebook.

I've been looking for a rugged-looking, military-style case. I ran across this case, the Magpul iPhone Executive Field Case, which seems very decently priced:
http://www.metaldogtactical.com/maipexficaip.html
Has anyone had any experience with this particular case? Quality? Durability? Protection?
I am looking for a case that can keep out sand and grit (especially after a day of ATVing) in a similar style. Does anyone know of a case?
If you search, there are reviews on the Magpul case. The Magpul case is more of a basic case that will not keep out sand and grit from your phone. You're looking more for an OtterBox Defender or Griffin Survivor; those cases are made to protect your phone from the environment.

BetterTouchTool, you can assign gestures to keyboard commands with it.
That's a GREAT app! Can't believe I didn't know about it having used my MBA for 5 months!
I can finally use finger gestures to open new tab, close a tab, move window around and so so much more. And the "Window Snapping" function came with the app is something I wished Mac OS to have. It helps a lot when multi-tasking.
You don't know how happy I am now. Love ya, mate. :D

I've done a bit of digging around on this and now have version 3.2 of Boot Camp drivers working on the MBA.:D
First - Fusion does need boot camp drivers. Here is a link on how to install them: http://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?language=en_US&cmd=displayKC&externalId=1012885
Second - i was able to follow these instructions using Superdrive and a CD version of Snow Leopard. There are still glitches and I haven't tested out bluetooth, isight etc but it seems to work. I don't know if the same technique will work with Remote Disc.
I have not found a way to do this using the MBA software re-install drive. It doesn't seem to allow you to explore the drive so you can't find the Boot Camp drivers.

I just bought a Hitachi USB 2.0 XL1000 external hard drive. The first time I plugged it in, it showed up and opened with time machine. But then Time Machine suddenly quit, so I unplugged the drive and now it won't show up when I connect it-the drive makes the sound that it is working, but then after a while it just turns off again. I am new to this, any help would be greatly appreciated.

You come from a Windows world so this probably isn't it, but if you double click on the files, do they open immediately with the right application or do they give you a list of apps to choose from. Is there any chance that you've deleted the suffix (.doc) and OSX has forgotten what to do with it?
Also, by generic icon, do you mean the white-file-with-nothing-on-it icon for all the icon-less files?
