I updated my iPhone 4 with iOS 4.3.3 last night and ever since, none of my apps open. When I select an app, the screen goes black for about a half a second, then goes right back to the window I was on. I have no idea why this is going on or how to fix it. Do I need to roll back the version of iOS software? If so, how do I go about doing it? Any help would be greatly appreciated...thanks!

The classic software dilemma: Do it for free but spend some time learning; or pay a few bucks for ease of use.
I'd suggest googling some more. You should find a good rsync tutorial that can walk you through the various options.

I always use software update. I just repair permissions before hand. Never any problems here.

when this app is running, is it constantly streaming data usage? i have a couple of chats going, just started using a couple of days ago. and for the first time i got a warning from Att then im at 70% of my usage for the month.
my internet has been down at home, so no wifi - but didnt think that would make much of a difference, this is the only app i can think of that would make this drastic of a change
on iPhone check out 'WhatsApp > Settings > Usage' to get an idea of how much the app is using

You think anyone will release a standalone PPC emulation application such as Parallel's or would it still require Lion to carry over necessary kext's?
Windows is a hugely popular, current platform while PowerPC has been dwindling in use and support since 2006. The market for a PowerPC emulation environment would be tiny yet possibly more complex than Parallels or VMWare.

Were the notes that didn't transfer from the same email account? If not, it may be an issue with that email account.
For the other question, yes, syncing two iPads to the same computer will result in essentially the same data unless you select certain things to not go on one or the other.

Hi. I am new to iPhone, an Android expat. I bought it two days ago, upgraded it today to 4.3.3. It was a breeze. Love this over Android any day! All the kudos aside, I am confused about sleep. I have two apps that I use continually at times. Battery Magic and Alarm Clock.
Battery Magic has a screensaver-like feature that shows you how much time is left until it is fully charged. And, it stays on until it does without iPhone going into "standby/sleep"? It alerts me when she is done and viola.
Alarm Clock has a beautiful display to lull you to sleep, even a flashlight for night panic attacks (joke, not so funny either), but the display goes away when iPhone zzz's.
Is the app or the phone I don't have configured properly? I am not able to find a solution yet.
Thank you for reading and love being here instead of the Android forum.

I have been working with Aperture 3 for a while. It occasionally freezes or crashes, but otherwise all is well.
Today however the 'adjustment' panel suddenly went empty: all I can see now are the drop down buttons for 'Presets' and 'Adjustments'.
I am not in 'Quick Preview'.
I have repeatedly restarted my computer.
I have restarted Aperture.
I have deleted Aperture preference files in the library.
I have repaired the Aperture library database.
Still no luck.
Any polite suggestions?
Thanks.

My girlfriends computer crashed so she lost all her music but luckily it is all still on her old iPod Video 30gb (not sure what generation it is, it is the first one that plays videos)..
Anyway, when i try to take the music off her iPod, it auto ejects. I have tried 3 different methods:
I tried using a tool called iPod Access: it auto ejected
I tried using a tool called expod: it auto ejected
I tried unhiding the music folders on it and just copying those over: it auto ejected.
The ipod itself works fine. No problems at all. I just cannot, for the life of me, find out what is happening..
Can anybody at all help me
*Edit: i forgot to mention that i am using a mac (specs in sig)
try Senuti (iTunes spelt backwards) can copy everything off your iPod onto your computer.

When you dock it to your iTunes it should pop up a warning that it is sunk to another iTunes account. It should also warn you that if you continue everything will be deleted from your iPad (as in apps, music, videos, books, etc...) and it will sync to your account.
You shouldn't need to restore the firmware to do what you wish....

I've added a small convert vBulletin post to MediaWiki link in the template. This appears as a very small "->" link on the bottom left of the post, near the Report Post icon.
It is a simple tool you can use to convert vbulletin markup to wiki markup. Mostly helpful for converting a post with lots of links.

How much is the drive your looking at and do you have software like Toast for the burner? Also do you have a FW cable?
The drive is cheap, $60 CAD for the Pioneer 110D 16x DVD-R drive, and enclosures are around $40-50. The Lacie drive on the other hand is $140 CAD and only 8x.
Thinking about getting a simple firewire case with an oxford 911 chipset and putting the Pioneer 110D in there... any thoughts or people with a similar setup?

As stated by spymac: The current iMac line may soon be shaken up and reconfigured, recent rumor and public information suggests.
Just weeks after confirming the discontinuation of the 15" Studio Display, retailers known to Spymac have come forward claiming continued difficulty receiving the low-end iMac CD-RW.
"This is the second delivery in a row that the [iMac CD-RWs] did not come through from Ingram Micro," says one reseller. "They're still available for order but are not arriving."
Although DigiTimes recently reported that 15" iMacs would be discontinued in October, Spymac sources confirmed that none of the other iMac configurations are experiencing ordering irregularities.
Earlier this month, Apple dropped the price of the 15" CD-RW iMac by US$100, bringing its price to $1,199.
"The 17" model continues to sell great," concludes the reseller. "Perhaps this marks the beginning of an additional 17" model to the line?"
Current sources did not immediately respond to questions; more information as it becomes available.
Although I'm not in the market for a new desktop (my 15" iMac is doing fine:D )
I'm excited to see what changes are going to be made to the iMac. I hope the style stays for a while though, I'd hate to see them put out a whole new iMac until mid or late 2003.

Not much. I have one that I rescued from the trash, along with a PowerBook 165 and a 180c. Neat little machines.
There is a small market for them among vintage computer collectors/hobbyists - but in order to have much value you'd need to have all the original packaging, manuals and accesories it came with. If not, a working old PowerBook like that in good condition is really worth no more than $50 even to an Apple enthusiast, and even $50 is probably optimistic.

How exactly are they stiffing you? 1 year ago, you agreed to a 2 year contract in return for a subsidized iPhone. You are less than half way into that contract and you want another subsidized iPhone? Where exactly does that compute as "stiffing".
+1. Can you really not wait an extra year for a new phone? Phone companies are known for conning people out of money unnecessarily, true. But if you whine all the time even if you're given a fair deal, do you really think they'll take you seriously when you have a legitimate complaint?
You agreed to two years. Deal with it--and feel lucky you don't have to agree to three years like Canadians do.

I am thinking of ordering the lacie slim dvd burner
http://www.lacie.com/products/product.htm?pid=10186
I know it isn't as fast as a desktop model, but I want to be able to take it with me, and I know my next mac will have a superdrive, so I wouldnt need an external burner. Right now I am using the superdrive on my G4 powermac. I am curious as to how much slower or faster the lacie slim is?
Advice is appreciated!

Well, Coconut only gets its data from the system profiler. So there has to be something wrong there. You could restart the finder if you have more problems, or do a system restart.
Your battery has probably become lazy after doing nothing for a year. Charge it completly and then let it drain completly. Then use it normal for a couple of days, then let it drain again. But it's still pretty good that your battery can hold 87% of its original power.
