Try resetting the PRAM (http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=2238) since it holds some (limited) monitor settings.

Just got told kanex xd won't work on the new imacs ... so i can't connect xbox 360 to imac like before ... pfft i ain't buying this now .. just going to wait for mac mini unless they remove the hdmi out on that and completely fu## meh!

Since the new TB port only support device with Thunderbolt capabilities, a.k.a no HDMI input unless your PS3/Xbox suddenly support Thunderbolt

I read a review that the game was running at about 27 fps on a Geforce 7600GT (The game is limited to 30 fps) On Ultra quality of course, on a reasonably big screen (1600x1200). A Geforce 6600GT was able to play it on medium graphics at decent frame rates.
If you go for the X1900, you'll have no problems. If not, it'll still run nicely, just maybe not maxed out fps, or not at Ultra High settings.

I followed seisend's advice with Compressor, and chose the Iphone 4/Ipad setting which had a bitrate of 10000, and the file size is now the same as the original files. Thanks for the tip!

Looking to get a Mac Book Pro, travel every week for a few days... The most intensive processing would be DVD copying or ripping for storage for the home media center...

Once I lost my 3g couple of years ago when doing a J turn with open windows on an empty parking lot. It just fell out due to G force. :D
It was dark, I realized it about an hour later, came back to the lot, called myself and there it was, on the ground with minimal scratch marks.
Boy, was I relieved...

When I type in Safari or Atomic or even click links there is about a 1 second delay, which is huge. Is this happening to anyone else? It started a few weeks ago and the update didn't help.

Recently i noticed that by visiting a random page at macrumors.com safari starts downloading a file called "banner.php.jpeg". After download the banner is automatically shown in preview.
Havent seen it happening on windows, but happens often on my mac and only when visiting macrumors.com.
The file is downloaded from:
_h_t_t_p://banner.nonstoppartner.net/common/banner.php?i=view&client=otto&l=nl&camp=aktion&size=160x600
I consider this a security issue since it starts OSX preview to show the banner jpeg and could possibly run malicious code.
Anyone else seen this issue?

It was working perfectly fine jailbroken before the bad sync happened. I take it that it's safe to do a backup through ifunbox before doing a reset?

I have an early 2008 Mac Pro.
My drive sometimes won't read discs, I've used it so much. I want to buy a new drive. My question is, do I get a blu ray drive(not BR burner) or get a regular DVD burner, like a superdrive.
The price difference seems to be about $40-$50. What benefit is there to having a blu ray drive. I don't think I'll ever watch a br movie from there. And I dont think I'll want to rip BRs either
Thoughts? Advice?

So the nasty ical is still there? I hope that goes away; it's horrible looking on the desktop. With limited real estate on the screen, all that extra stuff just takes up space...
